Accounting Firm Owners to Profit From Evolution of New Firm Model

Accounting firm owners are preparing themselves for a shake up in the month of August, as groundbreaking predictions regarding the future of the accounting profession will be brought to light by two of the industry’s most experienced advisors. The announcement comes hot on the heels of a string of news reports in recent months regarding SME clients’ needs for new services, above and beyond standard tax and compliance.

The accounting firm model as we know it is changing, according to expert consultants to the accounting industry, Ryll Burgin-Doyle and Rob Nixon, both of whom are touring with the event Evolve: Strategies to Transform Your Firm Into The Firm of The Future, which will visit select capital cities across Australian and New Zealand, during the month of August.

 Both Ryll and Rob made the decision to tour Evolve following grass roots research that showed few accounting firm owners are adequately prepared for the raft of changes that could spell the end for many ‘traditional’ model firms in the coming 5 years.

 “There’s a big shift ahead for Australian and New Zealand firms,” says Rob, “While some firms are adapting in line with changing market needs - for example by hiring full time sales people, full time marketing people, value pricing every project and getting paid in full before they start a job – the majority of firms have no idea what the future of accounting looks like, or where they’ll fit in with it. This is incredibly worrying for me.”
