After 15 years working with accounting firms in 7 countries, I’ve noticed that many firms perhaps like your own, have attempted implementation of business development work with clients. However, as I get to meet with and work directly with some of Australia’s leading accounting firms, I’ve noticed the margins they are achieving for their business development work are frankly, not nearly as high as they could be...
Another challenge I’ve noticed is this: it’s typically the partners who are actually “doing” the business development work with clients. And, these services are typically offered one-on-one, one partner to one client at a time.
